Manx Food & Drink
The Isle of Man produces incredible food for such a small island. From the Irish Sea to the hills — here's what to eat and where to find it.
Iconic Manx Foods
🐚 Queenies
Queen scallops — the island's seafood treasure. Sweet, delicate and best eaten fresh from the bay. Try them at any good Manx restaurant.
🐟 Manx Kippers
Moore's in Peel have been smoking herrings over oak chips since 1882. The original and still the best. Factory shop on the quay.
🧀 Manx Cheese
Isle of Man Creamery produces award-winning cheeses. The Manx Vintage Cheddar is exceptional.
🍞 Laxey Flour
Laxey Glen Mills — one of the last working watermills in the British Isles. Their flour is used by bakers across the island.
🦀 Crab & Lobster
Landed daily by local fishermen. The Harbour Bistro in Peel and Foraging Vintners in Douglas are reliable spots.
🥩 Loaghtan Lamb
From the rare Manx Loaghtan sheep — dark, rich, gamey meat. A genuine delicacy with Protected Designation of Origin potential.
